Hawaii - Part 1

Thursday August 9th- Finished packing and got a manicure/pedicure with Beth and April. It was fun but I doubt I'd get the manicure part again. I wasn't impressed. The pedicure was nice but I got a lady who seemed impatient with her job so she was super quick... she started my pedi about ten minutes after Beth had her started and we finished at the same time. Anyway, then we headed back to the Miller house for the night. I stayed awake for most of the night with intent to sleep on the plane on the way there. I slept for about an hour on Joey's bed while he watched tv/lifted weights. At 5am we headed off to the airport in a limo.

Friday August 10th- We arrived in Hawaii after many hours on a plane at 1:10pm Hawaiian time. It was so beautiful there. We had to stick around the airport for a little while because Beth and John were missing a piece of luggage. We eventually headed to our condo and got settled in. (We rode in another limo to our condo... really starting to feel spoiled at this point). Our condo was very nice. It had a full kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The spare bedroom was quite large with 2 double beds and a flat screen tv. The master bedroom had a king size bed and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. All of the rooms had a lanai (balcony) off of them. Joey and I slept on the pull out couch in the living room. It wasn't the most comfortable place but it was the most comfortable pull out I've ever slept on so it wasn't so bad. We ate an early dinner at Giovanni Pastrami's where we got some yummy pizza! We were starving by this point since we hadn't eaten since before the plane ride. I took a nap at 7 and woke at 8 and went for a walk with Joey on the beach. We got back and hit the sack around 9... kinda early but it was worth it. The next morning at 5am there was a fire alarm!! It was pretty crazy. We didn't quite know what was going on. I took a picture of everyone standing outside and leaving the buildings. Nothing seemed to come of it though and we were allowed back into the building soon after. We all decided we were up for the day.

Saturday August 11th- I went for a jog with April after we had a continental breakfast in the common area of the condo. It's crazy how common areas are all outdoors in Hawaii whether it be for condos or hotels. The weather is just that beautiful year round that they don't have to worry about it. The rest of the day was spent on the beach and shopping. Then for dinner, April, Randy, Joey, and I went to this little Hawaiian BBQ grille for dinner. It was right across the street from where we were staying. I had macadamia nut encrusted Mahi Mahi. It was pretty good.

Sunday August 12th- This morning I went for a jog with Joey's Mom. It wasn't terribly difficult but it was fun to navigate the island a bit by foot. Afterwards, we had a large breakfast with everyone at Giovanni Pastramis. I ate so much food I thought I was going to explode! Randy, April, John, and Beth all decided to rent a car and go to the north shore for the day. Joey and I stayed back and went shopping at the international market. Then we went to the beach for a little while and then hit up the pool. It was a nice day. I finished up most of my suveniour shopping that day and we found a nice little restaurant that we got $2 mai tais at. We grabbed a menu and ended up ordering out there for dinner. It was pretty good. I had a salad that was similar to a southwest chicken salad but it came in a taco bowl and had lots of veggies in it. It was real good. We got packed up for our last night on Oahu.
