1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Trained for and ran a marathon. Bought a house. Got engaged.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I ended the year WAY over my goal running mileage. I don't recall if I had any other resolutions. I had no intentions of running a marathon but it happened.
I will probably set some sort of mileage goal but don't intend to try to beat 2011 because I will not be marathon training this year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My good friend in PA.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
None this year. I didn't really travel much in general this year - two trips to Florida and to visit my parents/brother. Nothing exciting.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you didn’t have in 2011?
A husband.
7. What dates from 2011 will be etched upon your memory, and why?
March 11 - closed on my house. March 25th - got the keys to my house and got engaged. June 24th – I turned 30.
8. What was your biggest achievement of this year?
Home buying, running a marathon... I feel like this is redundant
9. What was your biggest failure?
I can't really think of any failures...
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A few colds but nothing major. I'm very thankful I made it through the marathon and training without getting injured! It was my biggest fear.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A house. New furniture. Smart phone.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My fiance. He supported me through all my training and everything else going on in my life. He has stepped up and helped so much with the new house and I love him all the more for all he does for me and our little family (Delilah).
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I can't think of anyone... which is a good thing for sure.
14. Where did most of your money go?
House, furniture, honeymoon (which is booked and paid for already). The bulk of the other wedding expenses won't come until 2012.
15. What did you get really excited about?
Finding my family once I finished the marathon!!
16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Raise your glass - Pink
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?
Happier I guess but I'm always pretty happy in general.
Same.
Richer I suppose.. if I don't look too closely at my retirement fund.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Cooking and meal planning. Packing my lunch. Stength training. Speed work. Cleaning my house. Craft projects - knitting/sewing curtains/etc.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Eating out for lunch.
20. How will you spend Christmas?
I'm heading to spend Christmas Eve and day with my parents. Then heading to Joey's dad's house to visit with his family. Then Joey and I are sleeping in on Monday (our paid holiday) and making delicious breakfast.

23. What was the best book you read?
Bossypants. Hunger Games (I'm reading the second one now).
24. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I started listening to some dance and hip hop music earlier this year as a result of seeing playlists from other running bloggers.
25. What did you want and get?
A house that I love.
26. What did you want and not get?
A promotion at work.
27. What was your favorite film of 2011?
Super 8. I didn't see very many movies this year though. I did LOVE Super 8 though.
28. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 30! My good friend and I celebrated our birthdays together with a camping trip with our close friends. She was born in late May so we split the difference and camped in early June. On my actual birthday, Joey made me spaghetti and meatballs and my friend Lisa came over. We went out back to the lake and went fishing. It was low-key but a fantastic day. Unfortunately my other good friends were out of town so they couldn't celebrate with me.
29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If someone paid for and planned my wedding for me. :)

Sometimes put together, sometimes not. I definitely have nicer running clothes this year.
31. What kept you sane?
Music. Running. Joey.
32. What political issue stirred you the most?
I'd like to keep my job. I don't want to get into it on here, but we've been on shaky ground a few times (no fault of my own) and it's not terribly fun to go through.
33. Who did you miss?
Friends who live far away. My brother's family even though I get to see them a few times a year.. my nieces are growing so fast! My good friend from high school who passed away over 10 years ago.
34. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.
I can will myself to do incredible things if I put my mind to it.

What a great year you've had!
Great list! You definitely had a milestone year, I think. And I like your answer to #6 :)
PS I'm sure you have told me this but my brain is not so sharp - but we are the exact same age!
Holy Crap that's a long list! I love that you are happy and pleased with your life! Lots of good things for you in 2011!
I love this!
whew, big exhausting year!
Streaming tv is the way to go. No commercials and no waiting til next week to see what happens next! Course it also makes me lazy an unproductive because I sit on the couch for 3 days straight... Lol.
I love your plans for Monday!!
You really had a big year!
